Shoes need to be appropriate for walking, running, jumping, and playing, and must be worn for all activities

Close toed shoes offer the most protection.

Watches:
· Smart watches are not allowed. (See District 51 Tech Policy)
Dress for Weather:
Colorado weather can change very quickly and children need to come to school dressed in weather appropriate
layers and shoes. Outside play and learning happens in all but the most severe weather.
Dress for Activity:
Different classes and activities require certain types of clothing. Please know that when you are participating in
these activities, there will be an expectation that these dress codes will be followed. Please communicate with your
teacher for the following events and activities:
· Field Trips
· Concerts
· Assemblies
· Festivals
· Certain Specials’ Classes
JRCS strives to honor and is committed to assisting in the development of each child’s inner qualities rather than
placing emphasis on external and superficial validation which comes from media-driven beauty and societal
standards. We discourage make-up, dyed hair, and clothing which commercializes childhood.
Teachers and parents are responsible for helping students to uphold the dress code.
Consequences for being out of dress code include:
◻ Teachers will first contact the parent and notify them of concerns.
If the concerns are not addressed or inappropriate clothing continues to be worn:
◻ Cover clothing with another article of clothing.
◻ Children will be asked to remove articles of clothing and replace them with another.
◻ Children may not be able to participate in various activities.
◻ Teachers will contact parents/guardians to bring appropriate clothing.
