In the morning, access to the classrooms is not allowed before 7:50 am
◻ Children are to be dropped off starting at 7:45am. There will be no supervision for them before that. Please follow the drop-off traffic pattern for your child.
◻ At 7:50am, the doors are opened and children are welcomed into the buildings. Children are directed to go to their classroom and wait outside the door until greeted by their teacher and welcomed inside.
◻ Children will be available for pick-up at 3:30pm Monday - Thursday and 12:00 on Fridays.
◻ Pick up from your car is only along the north side of the school through the horseshoe. Enter the pickup lane through Community Lane, please queue up by driving west on the road north of the large modular building into the horseshoe and pulling as far forward as possible into the designated pick up lane. Continue to move forward when free. Do not encourage your student(s) to come to your car ahead of the loading area.
Parking on the east side of campus is available to parents who want to park and personally pick up their children. Please find a staff member at the northeast gate to radio the classrooms for student dismissal.
◻ If pick up does not occur by 4:00 p.m., the Office Staff will call Social Services who will pick up the child. (This happens at 12:30 on Fridays.)
We are grateful for your continued cooperation waiting patiently during the drop off and pick up times.

Research has shown that 90% attendance is crucial for children's learning in school, and that frequent absences are educationally detrimental. Students are expected to attend classes unless they are temporarily ill or injured, have an appointment related to physical or mental health, or have a family emergency. If your student will be missing 3 days or more of school for reasons unrelated to illness, you can complete and sign The Pre-Arranged Absence Form and submit it to the office prior to the first absence and request those days be excused. Completing the Online Absence Report Form or the Pre-Arranged Absence Form is requested and appreciated, but it is not a guarantee that the requested dates will be excused. With the goal being 90% attendance, students below a 90% attendance rate may not be excused for absences unrelated to temporary illness or injury, an appointment related to physical or mental health, or a family emergency. According to School District 51 Policy, "The school reserves the right to determine whether an absence will be excused or unexcused." Once a student between 6 and 17 years old has reached 10 Unexcused absences, we will send the 10 Unexcused Absence Letter and schedule a meeting with parents and Administration to create and implement a Student Attendance Plan. We encourage your student’s attendance to support their long-term academic success. Communicating with the office each day your student is absent from school is important. You can communicate with us about absences either by phone or on our website:

We realize that there are occasions when parents would like to visit their child’s classroom. Visitors are welcome to our classrooms. In order to arrange a visit, please follow these guidelines:
Please, no unannounced drop-ins. Our daily classroom rhythm is a finely structured,
orchestrated routine. Lessons are an interplay between teacher and students, and student to student. Obviously, a visitor is not engaged in the work and flow of the classroom. As a result, an unexpected visitor can unnecessarily distract both the teacher and students. For this reason, we ask parents to respect the teachers’ request to be able to prepare the students for a visitor who is known by some and a stranger to others.
Speak with the teacher prior to the day you wish to visit. You may contact the teacher with your request by phone, email or directly (after school only, please).
